Hello everyone,
I need your guidance regarding a situation concerning an employee who recently resigned from a Punjab government corporation to join the Punjab government. Here’s the timeline of events:
- **Resigned from the corporation on 14.08.24**
- **15.08.24**: Public holiday
- **16.08.24**: Could not join the new post due to the non-availability of the concerned officer
- **Joined Punjab government on 17.08.24 (AN)**
- **18.08.24**: Sunday
- **19.08.24**: Public holiday
- **20.08.24**: Resigned from the Punjab government to rejoin the corporation where he originally resigned
- **21.08.24**: Relieved from the Punjab government
- **22.08.24**: Submitted the joining letter to the corporation
As per the Punjab Service Rules, it is understood that an employee can rejoin their original/parent department within 90 days of resignation, and the period of absence from the date of relief to the date of joining can be adjusted against earned leave in credit. However, the department is facing some challenges in allowing the rejoining.
Could someone please provide the exact rule provision or clarify this matter to help the individual in need? Your insights on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
